Today I am interviewing an author, Norma Downing. This past summer she got her first contract for her book A Promise Made coming out sometime at the end of this year!
Besides getting your first contract, what has been the most exciting part of your writing career so far?
Going to the ACFW conference and seeing the ‘author’ ribbon on my name tag.
When did you first start writing A Promise Made?
Three or four years ago.
When you got the e-mail saying that Crosslink was going to offer you a contract, did you believe it, or did you have to read it over a couple of times?
I read it over a couple times, but then I had to get someone else to read it to be sure.
Did you always enjoy reading?
Is romance your favorite genre to read?
Is it your favorite to write?
Do you have any plans to promote you book when it gets out?
I have an interview scheduled on someone’s blog, and I am looking into other interviews.
What is your favorite fiction book?
A Gown Of Spanish Lace by Janette Oke
Thank you for letting me interview you!
If you are interested in learning more about Norma Downing she is on twitter, twitter.com/Promisewriter, on facebook Facebook.com/AuthorNormaDowning, and she has a blog normadowning.wordpress.com.
I hope you enjoyed the interview and don’t forget to look for A Promise Made when it comes out! 😀
The summary to A Promise Made…. The promise Drew made to Emily’s dying father seems ridiculous to her. Find her a husband? She doesn’t think she needs a husband until she realizes that Drew may be just the man for her–although he does not agree. They both need to look to God for guidance and direction for the future, and to overcome issues from the past.
If you want a little more about Norma Downing….
Norma has been writing for years and has just recently been learning more about the craft of fictional writing. She hopes to honor and glorify God through her writing, while also entertaining the reader. She lives with her family in Virginia.
